Sam accepting his MVP award after our first game of the tournament where he scored two goals and had an assist! He was a crossbar away from a hat trick.

This one is a bit on the fuzzy side. Oh well. Sam is the one in black. He played so well this tournament. Really, he had the weekend of his hockey life! He scored two goals and an assist in the first game, the game winning goal in our second game, another goal in our third game, and an assist in our final game today. He has never scored more than three goals in an entire season and here he scored three goals in one day!

This was Sam's fourth goal of the tournament. I'm not completely sure where the puck went, but I think it went glove side. Sam said later that he didn't even know where the puck went until he saw the net move.

Hey, Sam has grown nearly 2 inches since March of this year! It may not seem like a big deal, but it is. He is 13 but the same size as the average 10 year old. In fact, little brother Casey is slightly taller than Sam. Casey will be 11 next month.

Sam's growth, or lack thereof, has been a concern for the past few years. We haven't seen growth like this for a very long time. He grew nearly an inch between March and August. There was a visible difference on the wall markings for September. Earlier this month, he had grown some more. This morning, I noticed that Sam is nearly up to my chin now. Tonight, we measured him again, and there is a clear gap between today's measurement and the one done earlier in the month!
